Hideo Kojima Becoming “Very Insistent” That Mads Mikkelsen And Norman Reedus Make Out In Front Of Him
The mood on the set of Death Stranding has reportedly become quite uncomfortable in recent days as director Hideo Kojima becomes more and more insistent that his leading stars Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen film a “crucial” kissing scene.
A source on set described how Kojima first floated the idea as a “just a joke” but began to bring it up more and more often during motion capture sessions. Things came to a head when Kojima hastily churned out a 30-page handwritten scene overnight consisting “largely of just Norman and Mads kissing” and stapled it to the official script.
“I can’t give too much of the plot away,” said Kojima in response to the rumours. “Death Stranding is going to be a very special game that deals with the themes of life and death, fatherhood, redemption and the afterlife. If I tell you what the game is about now I will spoil it and you will be disappointed.”
“But I will say that it is very important that these two handsome men kiss in front of me, for many long minutes, while I film it from different angles, and record it forever.”
“Once you recognise the secret reason for them doing insanely hot kisses, you will feel ashamed of your words and deeds.”
