Naughty Dog Shocked To Learn Employee Suffered Nervous Breakdown Over Sexual Abuse Instead Of Overwork

Developer Naughty Dog has reacted with shock and outrage upon learning that one of their employees had a nervous breakdown from sexual abuse in the workplace, saying that they were “devastated” to learn anything other than constant crunch and overwork might be responsible.

“Naughty Dog and Sony take all reports of sexual harassment and other workplace grievances, except of course for basic workers rights, very seriously,” said the two companies in a joint statement.

“Harassment and inappropriate conduct have no place at Naughty Dog and Sony Interactive Entertainment. Quite literally no place, as we are all too busy working our employees to the bone to deal with it anyway.”

The news has sent ripples through Naughty Dog’s workforce, or at least those members of the workforce who are able to take more than a 15-minute break to consider the world around them.

“I can’t speak for everyone here, but I always assumed that he collapsed at his desk and started weeping because we all do 80 hour weeks and never get to see our families or loved ones,” explained one member of Naughty Dog’s team.

“We call that ‘the baptism of tears’. Normal stuff, nothing to worry about. But to think that he was utterly shattered as a person and reduced to a sobbing husk of a man over sexual abuse? Now that’s really disturbing.”
